What we collect, why, and how to make us stop.

The short version: we collect what we need to run a directory and nothing else. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. You can ask for a copy of it or have it deleted, and we'll do that whether or not the law where you live requires it.

Only service providers who need it to make the site work, under contract, and only for that purpose:
We'll also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the safety of people or animals. If Pawperator is ever sold, your information may transfer with it — we'll tell you before that happens.

If you're in Canada: PIPEDA applies to your information, and you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. If you're in Washington State: you have rights under Washington law in addition to the above. Elsewhere in the US: some states give additional rights — ask us and we'll honour them regardless of thresholds.
Passwords are stored hashed, never in readable form. The site is served over HTTPS only. Card details never touch our systems. No system is perfectly secure, and if a breach ever affects your information we'll tell you promptly and plainly rather than waiting to see whether anyone notices.
Our providers operate globally, so your information may be processed outside the country you live in, including in the United States. We use providers that commit to appropriate safeguards.
We'll update this page when our practices change and move the effective date. For material changes we'll email account holders rather than quietly editing the page.
